Description
Aethriamanta gracilis (Pond Adjutant) is a species of skimmer dragonfly from the family Libellulidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 22 mm in length. This species is quite similar to Brachydiplax chalybea but it can be distinguished by its smaller size and somewhat more open venation (Orr, 2005). Both male and female have different colour. The male is blue while the female is yellowish brown colour with black marking. Aethriamanta gracilis can be found in weedy ponds and lowland marshes. It is known to be distributed in Sumatra, Borneo, Philippines, Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand and Laos (Dow, 2011).
