Description
Onychothemis testacea (Riverhawker) is a dragonfly species in the family Libellulidae. The male hindwing may measure up to 39 mm. It also has long, sparse and robust spines legs, yellow bands thoracic marking with deep metallic green on the ground of synthorax and a strongly banded abdomen. Its larva is flattened and it has strong legs and claws. The Riverhawker is breeds in riffles and clear forest streams with an altitude up to 700 m above sea level. It can also be found in the open country. This dragonfly is rare in Peninsular Malaysia but widespread in tropical Asia (Orr, 2005).
