Description
Pseudagrion rubriceps (Orange-faced Sprite) is a damselfly species in the family Coenagrionidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 20mm for male and 22mm for female. The male can easily be recognized by the bright orange patch on its head and other markings distinctive. The female has a nearly uniform ochre head and thorax; dark abdomen at the above except S10 which is blue above as in male. P. rubriceps is widespread in Sundaland except for Borneo and mainland tropical Asia. It is commonly found on slow running water in open and degraded habitats at the altitude up to 1000m above sea level but sometimes in brackish water channels on the landward side mangroves (Orr, 2005). This species breed in open streams and ponds (Pal, 2011).
