Description

Onychothemis culminicola is a species of dragonfly that belongs to the family Libellulidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 37 mm. It has long, sparse and robust spines legs, brown thorax with yellow bands above and laterally with mainly dull orange abdomen. This dragonfly is commonly found on medium-sized, clear lowland forest streams at an altitude 0-900 m above sea level.  It prefers swifter water with sandy bottom. It is widespread in Sundaland (except Java), Thailand and Laos (Orr, 2005).
