Description
Cratilla lineata (Lined Forest-skimmer) is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. Its hindwings may measure up to 38 mm in male and 40 mm in female. The male is lacking of dark wing-tips and sub-basal abdomen blue of C. metallica with thinner abdomen while the female is quite similar to C. metallica but lacking dark wing-tips with darker and narrower abdomen. The Lined Forest-skimmer is commonly found in closed forests and forested swamps at an altitude up to 1100 m above sea level. The larvae of Cratilla species are very similar but those of lineata occur in a wider range of standing water forest habitats and several species occur throughout eastern tropical Asia (Orr, 2005).
