Vachell’s Glass Perchlet has oblong and compressed body; lateral line interrupted at midway; hind and ventral margins of preopercle with serrate and 2 or more scale rows on cheek. Its body is semitransparent; silver head and belly; hyaline dorsal fins and caudal fin often tinged with yellow. It inhabits in bays, brackish estuaries and tidal creeks, especially mangroves.
