Description

Yellowlined Ponyfish has deep, ovate and strongly compressed body; dorsal and ventral profiles similarly convex; mouth protruding downwards; ventral profile of lower jaw almost straight; small slender teeth on both jaws; cheek naked; breast almost completely scaled and semicircular naked area on nape. Its head and body almost uniformly silvery-white; tip of snout dark; lateral line scales prominent yellow but easily fade out and about 14 cm SL maximum length. It usually found in muddy bottoms in shallow waters.
