Description

Prodasineura notostigma (Crescent Threadtail) is a species of damselfly in the family Platycnemididae. Its hindwing may measure up to 19 mm while the total length of its abdomen to anal appendage is 31 mm. This damselfly has blue markings on upperpart of synthorax which is broad and tapering to a point while the abdominal segment 9, 10 and superior anal appendage is entirely black. Female can be differentiated by the presence of the narrow blue bands and reduced marking on its head. Crescent Threadtail is commonly found in the forest streams at the altitude up to 1,000 m above sea level. It is widespread in Sundaland except for Java (Orr, 2005).
