Description

This fungus has pure white fruit body, transparent, gelatinous, slightly sticky, consisting of several thin and crooked valves. Its colour is yellowish abd crisp when dry and reviving when moistened. This fungus grows gregariously on dead branches and wood of broadleaved trees and has a very wide distribution ranging from temperate to tropical regions. This species is commercially cultivated and very popular in Chinese cuisine and traditional medicine (Izzauddin et al., 2019).
