Description
Brachydiplax farinosa is a small to medium-sized species of skimmer dragonfly belonging to the family Libellulidae. It is commonly known as darkmouth dragonfly or Pepatung mulut gelap in Malay. Its hindwing may measure up to 26 mm in length. The male has a powder blue body colour, broad abdomen, with strong yellow patch to hindwing base. While the female has brown colour, thinner abdomen and clear hindwing base. This species can be found in ponds, drains and mangrove swamps in disturbed habitats. It is widespread in tropical Asia (Orr, 2005).
