Chrysogrammitis glandulosa is a type of fern which often found on mossy tree trunks in dense humid mountain forests from 1,400 to 1,800 m in altitude. It can be found in Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Sumatra, Java, Malaysia and the Philippines (Parris, 1998).
This species has two types of glandular hairs, which comprised simple glandular hairs and forked glandular hairs. These hairs may secrete oil, resin or mucilage and typically possess a stalk and an enlarged terminal portion, which may be referred to as gland (Gupta, 2020). The colours of the simple glandular hairs are either pale yellow-brown or medium red-brown, with pale yellow or pale to medium red-brown. Meanwhile the forked glandular hairs are either pale yellow, medium yellow-brown or pale to medium red-brown. The glands on both types of hair are sometimes iridescent, in which the colour changes according to the angle of view or the angle of illumination. The hairs are similar to those on stipe on all parts of lamina. This fern has an abaxial and sometimes adaxial surface of lamina and rachis (Parris, 1998).
