Description
Libellago aurantiaca is a small-sized damselfly with hindwing length of 15-20 mm. It is commonly known as Fiery Jewel. This species can be found at sluggish brooks and slow flowing streams in lowland forest. It is widespread in Sundaland (except Java) and peninsular and south-western Thailand (Orr, 2005). The male has similar wing marking to L. lineata. It is particularly attractive with yellow and black marked thorax and bright red abdomen. While the female has dull-coloured of yellowish brown body and frequently found to lay eggs in group at decayed logs half submerged in flowing water (Choong et al., 2017).
