Description

Archibasis viola is a damselfly species in the family Coenagrionidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 23 mm. The male individual has distinct violet-blue markings that present on its abdomen on S1, as oval spot on dorsum of S2 and entirety of S8-9. It also has distinctive anal appendages. The female has very similar marking to the male. This damselfly is commonly found at small stream in lowland forest swamps. It is widespread in Sundaland and Palawan (Orr, 2005).
