Description

Neurothemis disparilis is a dragonfly species that belongs to family Libellulidae. The male hindwing may measure up to 24.5 mm, with reddish brown colour confined to the base of wings. Its body colour is similar to Neurothemis fluctuans, which is mainly brown and no clear red marking. While as for female, the hindwing is measures 26.5 mm long, has hyaline wings with strong yellow basal tint on the hindwing which is more extensive than N. fluctuans. This species is very rare and probably found in lowland forest swamps or at the edges of such habitats. It is widespread in Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo (Orr, 2005).
