Description
Indothemis limbata, commonly known as Restless Demon is a species of dragonfly belonging to family Libellulidae. This dragonfly may be mistaken with Trithemis festiva but they can be distinguished by some characteristic such as darker colour, lacking orange streaks on abdomen, has dark wings tips and dark patch basal on hindwing which differs in shape. The females are much paler dark marking than males and are very active and rapid in flight (Orr, 2005).
The Restless Demon is rare and local over open water. It is widespread to the north and west in tropical Asia (Orr, 2005). It normally breeds in open habitats, primarily open marshes and ponds, but has also been seen on reservoirs (Dow, 2011).
