Description
Agrionoptera sexlineata (Handsome Grenadier) is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae with the hindwing measuring up to 36 mm for male and 38 mm for female. The male can be recognized by distinctive blue and red livery and long, narrow and dark-tipped wings. The male also has metallic synthorax with three yellow lines laterally. Meanwhile, the female is brown in color with dull yellow marking and broadly brown wing-tips. The Handsome Grenadier is commonly found in alluvial freshwater swamp forest, large favours, and shallow leafy pools. It is widespread in Sundaland except Java (Orr, 2005).
