Macromidia genialis (Sunda Shadeshifter) is a species of dragonfly belongs to the family Synthemistidae. The male hindwing may measure up to 29 mm with pincer-like superior anal appendage. Meanwhile, female has similar markings to the male with rounded base hindwing. This dragonfly occurs in Peninsular Malaysia and south Thailand where it commonly found in clear forest streams. Adults can be seen fly swiftly along shaded stream margins. Its larva is libellulid-like with relatively short legs living under stones in riffles (Orr, 2005).
