Description

Gynacantha limbalis, commonly known as Margin-winged Duskhawker is a species of dragonfly belonging to the family Aeshnidae. The male’s hindwing may measure around 59-61 mm. This species can easily be recognised by its large size and brown streaks along leading edges of wings, very swollen basally abdomen which is strongly constricted, and very lengthy superior anal appendages (Orr, 2005).

The Margin-winged Duskhawker are attracted to light and can be found flies at dawn and dusk. It is widespread in Sundaland (Orr, 2005).
