Description

Laidlaw’s Sprite (Teinobasis laidlawi) is a damselfly species belonging to the family Coenagrionidae. It is endemic to Borneo, where it can be found in Kalimantan, Sabah and Sarawak (Dow, 2019). T. laidlawi appears to be a relatively local species, occurring at pools in lowland forests in flat terrain and in upland areas (Dow, 2010; Dow et al., 2015; Dow, 2019). As it flies low in shaded areas, this species is readily missed and is probably underrecorded.
