Description

Teinobasis ruficollis is a damselfly species in family Coenagrionidae. It commonly known as Red-tailed Sprite (Choong et al., 2017). ts hindwing may measure up to 19mm in length. This damselfy has very distinctive bright orange colour with deep metallic blue-green strip the on dorsum of synthorax. Its superior anal appendage is deeply divided into upper and lower lobe. The individual female has a similar coloured as male. The Red-tailed Sprite is normally breeds at local in high-grade secondary habitats and swampy forest in lowlands area (Orr, 2005). It is recorded from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore (Dow, 2019).
