Taxonomy

Description

Phaenandrogomphus asthenes is a species of clubtail dragonfly that belongs to family Gomphidae. Its hindwings may measure up to 25 mm in length. This species has a very thin abdomen, greatly expanded at the tip with large, pale, forcep-like anal appendage where the inferior anal appendage is deeply divided. The sides of the thorax are mostly pale (Orr, 2005). It can be found in Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand (Orr, 2005; Dow, 2020).
