Description
Macrogomphus thoracicus is a species of dragonfly that belongs to the family Gomphidae. In general, its hindwings may measure about 48 mm for males and 52 mm for females. This species resembles to the Macrogomphus quadratus but the former can be differentiated by having more extensive lateral green markings on the thorax (Orr, 2005). Macrogomphus thoracicus can be found in Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatera and Thailand, where it inhabits slow-moving lowland forest streams (Orr, 2005; Dow, 2019).
