Taxonomy

Description

Drepanosticta hamadryas is a damselfly species belongs to family Platystictidae. Its hindwing may measure about 21.5 mm in length. This species is quite similar to Drepanosticta pan but can be distinguished by the blue colour on the abdominal segment 9. The synthorax is laterally dark without the dorsal yellow line. D. hamadryas is an endemic species. It is commonly be found in lowland and montane forest springs and stream (Orr, 2005).
