Taxonomy

Description

Drepanosticta berinchangensis is a damselfly species belongs to the family Platystictidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 25mm. The length of the abdomen to anal appendage is about 37mm. Unlike other Drepanosticta, this damselfly has distinctively shaped inferior appendages which are inflated and turned inward terminally. It is also lacking blue marking on its abdomen. D. berinchangensis is categorized as rare endemic of montane forest (Orr, 2005) where it is only found in Cameroon Highlands (Kemp, 1994).
