Description
Telosticta janeus is a species of damselfly in the family Platystictidae. It is an attractive damselfly with light blue eyes and light blue strips on thorax. The female has similar body marking as the male. This damselfly is normally found at streamlets in deep jungle. The female was spotted to lay eggs on small tree branches or twigs overhanging streamlet. So far this species has been known from two locations in Sabah which is Danum Valley and Imbak Canyon. It is rare and very local (Choong et al., 2018). The species epithet is a noun in apposition, it is derived from a Latinised form of Jan, named for Jan van Tol (Dow & Orr, 2012).
