This is a small fungus and has striking bright yellow coloured. Its cap is convex becoming plane, bright lemon yellow and cracking into small brownish patches. It has buff coloured tubes and turning blue when damaged while its pores are pale cream to buff, large, angular and turning faintly blue when damaged. The flesh is lemon yellow and unchanging upon exposure while its central stipe is the same colour as the cap. This fungus has a sour taste and is not so frequently encountered at FRIM but can be quite common in lowland rainforests and also in montane fagalean forests at Fraser’s Hill, Pahang.
