This fungus is white to pale cream when young and becoming pale buff and the dark brown to black when old. All parts of the fruiting body turn brown when damaged and it looks like coral, branched several times, smooth and dry with forked and pointed tips. This fungus is usually found growing under other dipterocarps in lowland rainforests in Peninsular Malaysia.
