This fungus has a pileate fruiting body which is disc-shaped to ear-shaped. Its fruit body is gelatinous and jelly-like to elastic, dark reddish brown on the upper surface and translucent, smooth and whitish on the underside. This fungus grows in small groups on dead wood after rain and also used as an ingredient in many Chinese dishes and also used medicinally.
