Brown Acusilas (Acusilas coccineus) is a type of leaf rolling orb weaver or spider belonging to the family Araneidae. The body length is measuring up to 6 mm for males, while the females are measured up to 11 mm. The body colour of this spider can range from reddish brown to dark brown, with some transverse black bandings. The form of the abdomen is slightly different between males and females, with the male being oval and smaller, while the female being barrel-shaped. This spider is distributed from India and China to Indonesia, including Sabah, Malaysia. It is commonly found in the understorey in primary and secondary forests (Koh & Bay, 2019).
