Description

Ceriops decandra is a shrub or a medium to big-sized tree reaching 15 to 35 m in height with a bole diameter of 30 cm. The bark is pale brown. The leaves are usually elliptic-oblong, 4.5–10 cm long and 2.5–6 cm wide. The fruits are normally ovoid-conical c. 1.8 cm long and the hypocotyl is club-shaped of 9–15 cm long. This species is distributed in India, Indo-China, Peninsular Malaysia, Banka, Java, Borneo, Philippines, Celebes, Moluccas and New Guinea (Madani & Wong, 1995).
