Description
Mormolyce castelnaudi or known as Fiddle beetle is a type of ground beetle that belongs to the family Carabidae. This beetle can grow up to 80 mm in length. It is easily identified as it has broad, leaf-like, and flattened elytra. Its wing sheats are brown in colour with head and pronotum slightly darker. It possesses long and flexible antennae. Compared to male, the female is much smaller in size (Tung, 1983).
