Rhabdophis rhodomelas is commonly known as Blue-necked Keelback. It has a rather stout body, with  strongly keeled scales and rounded ventrals. Its head is distinct from the neck and the eye is moderate with round pupil. The belly is pink or yellow with small black dots near the edge of each ventral. This species can be found in forests, plantations and damp meadows up to 210 m altitude and maybe active at any time.
