Description

Leptobrachella  gracilis is commonly known as Sarawak Slender Litter Frog. It inhabits in primary and old secondary growth forests in hilly country. The breeding take place at a small to large streams with clear water and sandy to rocky bottoms. This species has been records from Sarawak (Malaysia), Kalimantan (Indonesia) and Brunei Darussalam (IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, 2019).

The Sarawak Slender Litter Frog has a similar shape to the Dring’s Slender Litter Frog (Leptobrachella  dringi). It has webbing only at base of toes. The skin is rough above and on sides, with small, round lumps and short, low ridges. The colour of the frog is dark brown above and on sides, with obscure dark spots on the back and head. The sides have light and dark spots with light in the centre while the chest and belly are heavily marked with dark brown or black spots. The forelimb has a light cream area at the elbow, sharply contrasting with the dark upper and lower arm (Inger & Stuebing, 2005).
