Description

Belalong Swollen-headed Weaver (Borneanapis belalong) is a type of swollen-headed tiny weaver belonging to the family Anapidae. Both sexes measures around 2 mm at maximum length. The abdomen is high and appears triangular in lateral view. The abdomen is heavily pockmarked. Besides that, the abdomen also contains numerous wart-like conical tubercles bearing prominent, lengthy spines. It can be found on bark or foliage near the ground in lowland primary rainforests. It is distributed in Sabah, Malaysia and Brunei (Koh & Bay, 2019).
