Description

Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi is a monopodial and epiphytic plant flowering in October. The stems of this species are very short and the leaves are fleshy with notched apex. The inflorescences of this species are long and hang down with one or two flowers opening at one time. The floral bracts of this species are alternate and green in colour. Both its sepals and petals are pale yellow with red-brown blotches. The distribution of this species occurs in Northeast India, Nicobar Islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia. In Peninsular Malaysia, this species can be found in lowlands including swamps on rocks and tree trunks and often found near streams. This species also was recorded from mountain areas and in Perlis, it was found at Bukit Wang Mu.
