This fungus has sepia cap to light purplish brown in colour and steaked with darker fibrils. The surface of the cap is smooth but sticky. The flesh is white while the gills are white and crowded. This fungus is poisonous and it is not uncommon under dipterocarp in the FRIM grounds and has also been found in other lowland dipterocarp forests in Peninsular Malaysia.
