The cap of this fungus is greyish brown to milky coffee and sometimes dark snuff brown in colour with a flat to slightly depressed centre. The flesh is white and the crowded gills dingy cream in colour. The base of the stipe is slightly bulbous and covered with greyish brown floccose patches similar to that on the cap surface and a ring is absent. It has been found apart from the FRIM grounds and also found in other lowland rainforests. It can usually be found growing in small groups on the ground.
