This species is a robust fungus and it has wide cap with 40-90 mm and its cap is convex to plane and not striate at the margin. The flesh of the cap and stipe is Sulphur to lemon yellow and copious bright yellow sap is produced when the fresh cap is cut. The cut surfaces slowly turn pale reddish brown upon exposure. The crowded gills are pale cream turning deep ochraceous with age. This fungus grows gregariously and is fairly common in the FRIM grounds. It has also been found in other lowland rainforests in the peninsula.
