This species is a relatively small and fragile fungus and its cap is dirty white with depressed in the centre and covered with a pale grey fuscous felt-like layer which breaks up into small patches. The gills are white to cream and not very crowded while the stipe is slightly attenuated upwards and cream becoming slightly yellowish towards the base. The base of the stipe is slightly bulbous and finely felt-like with an abrupt ridge around the top of the bulbous base.
