Cyathea alleniae is a species of tree fern belongs to family Cyatheaceae. It is endemic to Peninsular Malaysia, where it can be found in forest margins on steep ground or by a river at an altitude of about 1,200 m (Parris et al., 2020).
This fern has an erect trunk which can grow up to 4.5 m tall and 15 cm in diameter. The trunk is usually unbranched but may branch to form several small crowns of fronds. The fronds are either bipinnate or tripinnate that can reach 18 cm long. The main crown of the fronds is its sori and scales. Sori occur near the midvein of fertile pinnules and are protected by firm, brown indusia that resemble the appearance of scales. The stipe is at least 30 cm, near the base with many thick conical spines measuring to 2 mm long (Parris et al., 2020).
