The head of Speckle-headed Whip Snake is grey or brownish above, spotted or finely stippled with black curved lines and rings. The body is brownish or pinkish-grey dorsally, with numerous faint crossbars on the neck and anterior part of the body. This species has been found from sea level and 900 m a.s.l. (Das, 2010). It feeds primarily upon cold-blooded prey like lizards and frogs.
