The small soft-shelled turtle species which commonly known as Malayan Softshell Turtle is included in the freshwater turtle group. It has a proportionally large head, almost straight sides of the carapace and completely smooth anterior margin of the carapace. The carapace is dark olive or brown colour with dark median stripe while the underside is white cream or grey (Das, 2010). This species inhabits swift-flowing streams with clear water and a rock or gravel bottom in Thailand and Malaysia, but in Java, it has been reported from muddy pools. Its diets consist of fruits and aquatic invertebrates such as prawns, crabs, snails and fish. It produces 3-7 eggs per clutch (Malkmus et al., 2002).
