Taxonomy

Description

Limnonectes blythii is a large frog with snout body and its hindlegs is long and stocky. This species is a good jumper. This species has vomerine teeth, its head as long as wide, rounded snout and the tympanum is not clearly visible. The fingertips of this species expanded into large disks with circum-marginal grooves and its toes with broad webbing. The skin of upper body and belly are finely granular, the throat and chin are smooth and yellowish green with small dark patches. Males grow to a snout–vent length of 90-260 mm and females grow up to 85-125 mm.

Commonly, this species can be found along rivers in primary and secondary forest. Sometimes, it also can be found on the forest floor away from rivers. In Ulu Muda Forest Reserve, this species can be found along river banks, on track and boulders in streams and forest trails. The altitudinal range of this species is at about 0 - 1200 m. This species occurs in Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
