This fungus has wide, fleshy and convex cap with a slightly depressed centre, not uniform colour, usually with shades or purplish grey, purplish green, pale green to buff and paler towards the striate margin. The cap surface is sticky when moist, fibrillose and peeling easily. Its gills are cream, thin and crowded but sometimes with the gill edges flushed pale purplish. This ectomycorrhizal fungus usually grows in groups under various dipterocarps and is common both at FRIM and in Malaysia lowland rainforests.
