Abstract

The publication of ‘Land Snakes of Malaysia - Malaysia Biodiversity Information System’ is to document information on the diversity of snake species in Malaysia and promoting national biodiversity database known as Malaysia Biodiversity Information System (MyBIS). MyBIS is a one-stop reference centre for the biodiversity of Malaysia, established as part of Malaysia’s commitment under the Convention on Biological Diversity to develop a Clearing House Mechanism (MyCHM). According to the literature, there are as many as 191 species of snakes in 14 families in Malaysia. This illustrated book contains a total of 88 species.
